Internet Marketing Services

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.
—Albert Einstein

You cannot learn Internet marketing at a convention nor can you learn it at one of those 2 day seminars that the gurus advertise for $5,000 and yes even $10,000. And don’t waste your hard-earned money on those expensive Internet workshops. Listen. The saddest thing of all is that most of what they teach is available for free on the Internet. You could compile a list of elements, make a bunch of presentation slides with Microsoft Office Power Point and become a guru too.

The chances of you learning Internet Marketing this way has about the same probability of the Catholic Church endorsing the birth control pill or the morning after pill to prevent conception.

You have to start somewhere and Internet Marketing is just a form of advertising which has been around for centuries. It’s persuasion, plain and simple. Getting that prospect to say yes.

Where do you start when you are at ground zero; when you are just a rank beginner a noob, a newbie. Not at some Internet Marketing seminar. Not at any Internet Marketing convention where you will meet many wannabees and self-styled gurus who will sell you a bill of goods. What you need is to start with the basics that have led to successful Internet Marketing enterprises. You should start with one of the most important advertising books every written. This book was written way back in the 1920s and its principles are still viable today more than ever. It shoots down all the other authors who will try to bamboozle you with how “real” Internet Marketers find success. These people aren’t players, they are con artists who spout half truths about how this business works. Most of it is just rehashed bull crap.

Here is the book you need to start your Internet Marketing education with:

Scientific Advertising by Claude Hopkins.

This book is available for free on the Internet. Or you can find a hard cover book on Amazon. This is a book for players.

A player understands the game. He knows that you learn how to sell by selling, not by memorizing a bunch of high falutin rules offered up by some marketing moron. Listen to this. Mr Hopkins of Scientific Advertising fame was asked to look at some college level textbooks on advertising. The publishers expected he would offer some great advice on how they could be improved. After he looked them over, he said, “Burn them!”. He thought that these books were so bad that anyone studying them and trying to implement some of their false teachings would have to spend about six years to recover from the malarky in those books.

So be careful and pick the right experts to learn from for your ground zero information on Internet Marketing. Make sure they have walked the walk and are not all talk. Here are a few more good books to read and absorb after you have read Scientific Advertising at least twice.

These are the real experts, the players:

The Robert Collier Letter Book by Robert Collier

The First Hundred Million by E. Haldmen-Julius

Breakthrough Advertising by Eugene Schwartz

How To Write A Good Adverisement by Vic Schwab

7 Steps To Freedom by Ben Suarez

My Life In Advertising by Claude Hopkins

Influence: The Psychology Of Persuasion by Robert B Cialdini, Ph.D

After you finish reading these books, the next step is to buy some 3×5 cards and on these cards you will write ideas that will come to you after reading all those books. Don’t forget to keep up with the latest things that are happening by reading USA Today, Wall Street Journal, the National Enquirer, as well as magazines on success and business opportunities. Cruise through the Amazon catalog to see what’s selling, bring up Ebay and see what’s shaking there. Look at Google Trends to find out what the latest trends are.

Now, begin to write some headlines on those cards, ideas that you can turn into information products that you could market over the Internet. Those are what sells best. Just look at the Clickbank catalog. There are thousands of information products there that will give you even more ideas to write on your 3×5 cards.

As you cycle through your cards each week, you may come up with a widget that would sell on the Internet. Your looking for that “aha experience”, a vision, a breakthrough concept, a unique idea.

That is, find a need and fill it.

Listen. Find out what the starving crowed desires and give them what they want. From then on the path to success is clear. Plunge ahead. Make a plan. Follow your plan to Internet Marketing success. Just don’t lose your head and become a guru.
